NTN

NTN-SNR EUROPE is the European division of the Japanese company NTN Corporation, with production facilities located in 19 countries. The NTN-SNR Group was established in 2008 after the takeover of a well-known French brand by NTN Corporation.

The history of NTN began at the Japanese metallurgical plant Nishizono Ironworks, where in 1918 they began to produce ball bearings. In the 1960s, the expansion of the Japanese manufacturer began around the world. At the end of the 20th century, NTN took over one of France’s leading bearing manufacturers, SNR.

SNR is a well-known French bearing brand founded in 1916 by Jacques Schmidt, a blacksmith from Switzerland who moved to the small French town of Annecy. The first bearings were produced under the SRO brand. But during the Second World War, the company survived a serious crisis and became the property of the French automaker Renault, receiving the new name SNR, which means “new bearing company”. The merger with NTN Corporation allowed the company to reach a new level and gain worldwide recognition.

Today, NTN-SNR designs, develops, manufactures and markets various types of bearings, rollers, linear guides, constant velocity joints, encoders, auto parts, maintenance products and related services. All products are certified according to the most stringent international standards. The company actively cooperates with automotive market leaders from Europe and Asia. Among its regular partners are VW Group, Fiat Group, Ford, Opel, Renault, Mercedes, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Suzuki, Subaru, Mitsubishi and other auto giants.

NTN-SNR has been awarded the EcoVadis GOLD certification for corporate social responsibility activities.
